Dear Friends and Colleagues

We have the great honour to be able to invite you in the name of the Swiss Group for Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SGIEM) to take part in the SSIEM Annual Symposium of 2011. The City of Geneva is ideally located with its truly cosmopolitan flavour, set between mountains and the lake.

The points of entry, hotels, conference centre and the many places of interest are all within short distance of each other ensuring an ideal environment for the scientific and social exchanges which are the hallmarks of SSIEM symposia.

The SGIEM has worked together with the International Scientific Committee to produce a programme which maintains well loved features of our traditional format as well as incorporating new aspects that reflect a modern approach. The main scientific programme reflects research interests of the local organizers as well as new developments in our rapidly advancing field.

Thus we have a joint session with the International Society for Newborn Screening (ISNS), a session on adult metabolic diseases, plenary and free communications sessions, alongside posters and exhibition all taking place in a modern state of the art conference centre with our exclusive use.

On behalf of the SGIEM and the SSIEM we look forward to seeing you all in Geneva.
