Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to the Symposium and Workshop on Neuroimaging of developmental disorders in Dubrovnik. Neurodevelopmental disorders are a major cause of motor, sensory cognitive and behavior impairment ... and a major challenge for translational medicine.

According to current neuroscience concept, schizophrenia and autism are also included in neurodevelopmental disorders.

Neurobiological basis, pathogenetic mechanisms and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders are one of the most challenging problems in contemporary translational medicine. Therefore, Croatian Society for Neuroscience, CIBR, School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and HAZU decided to organize a special symposium and workshop on this topic with an attempt to bridge the gap between cutting edge neuroscience research and clinical work in the field of neuroradiology, pediatric neurology, neonatology, neurology, child psychiatry and clinical psychology.

The IBRO symposia program will recognize the Symposium. The IAC-USN Committee also welcomed the idea of the workshop and symposium. Topics include, Methods of assessment (MRi, fMRi, DTi, Tractography, MR Spectroscopy PET), Neuroimaging of normal development - including fetal and neonatal imaging, Dynamic mapping during childhood and adulthood, Functional MRi during cognitive development, PET - developmental aspects, Neuroimaging of developmental disorders and malformations, Neuroimaging in metabolic disorders, Genetic disorders: Neurogenomics and Neuroimaging, Functional and structural neuroimaging in child psychiatry, Neuroimaging of autism as developmental disorder, Perinatal lesions and plasticity, Neuroimaging of language disturbances and the workshop will cover most of the methodological approaches in the field of neuroimaging with great practical impact for diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The concept of the Symposium and Workshop is similar to neurobiology. The Scientific Committee will try to implement the concept of neuroimaging-neurogenomics-pharmacogenimic throughout the Symposium. The Workshop is linked with a modern 3Tesla unit in Zagreb and has availability with the current 3D MRi and other automatic programs. CAAS was chosen as an excellent and unique place for this kind of event.
